1st Haricut

Annika desperately needed a haircut.  At least in the back.  She had a really good mullet going on, but it was time to get her hair under control.  So we went over to Sheer Madness for her first hair cut.  She got to sit in a cute purple jeep and watch a movie while the wonderful, patient hairdresser cut her hair.  I must admit, I was shocked that there were no tears.  She did great!  And even though we cut off some of her curls (they will grow back!) I think her hair looks so much better!

Yogurt, Again

Usually Annika is not super messy.  Unless she is eating yogurt.  For some reason, she loves to get this EVERYWHERE.  This is what she looked like after having yogurt for dinner last night.  She definitely had a bath this night!

Toys & Crib

Annika has slept with her baby dolls for awhile now.  Then she added her books.  One is the prayer book we read her every night and the other is just a random book about animals.  Then she added a teddy bear blanket and a rabbit blanket.  Then, the other night, she wanted her little dolls that go with her doll house.  When I went to get her from her nap this is what I found.  She was playing with her baby doll but look at the little dolls on her book.  They are lined up watching her play.  She stayed in her crib for about 15 minutes, just playing with her toys.  Love it!

Crown Center is an area near downtown KC where the Hallmark headquarters are located.  Every year they put up Christmas lights in all the trees and a play area.  We decided to head down last Saturday night, Annika got to drive a tractor, ride a pig, and played with large Nutcrackers.  When it got a little too cold to keep playing, we headed inside for coffee, and stopped at the Crayola store where she had a chance to draw with crayons of colors she doesn't normally get a chance to use!  She loved it all!  Even when she got freaked out by Robo-Santa!

14 more days!  It's almost here!

Pictures

We had pictures taken at the end of October and I'm finally getting around to posting them.  Megan from MegD Photography took our pictures again this year.  They turned out so great and I love them.

Manners

I think we need to work on Annika's manners!

Poor Rynka

Our poor dog Rynka.  Annika loves her so much.  The feeling is not mutual.  Rynka likes to sit on the back of our couch, which up until a couple of weeks ago, was a safe distance away from Annika.  Now that Annika likes to lay on the couch, Rynka is miserable.  Annika likes to pull Rynka's  tail, or foot, or ear, or pet her (and by pet I mean hit), or hug her.  Rynka tries to get away but then Annika thinks it is a game and laughs and tries to grab her again.  Luckily Rynka is a sweet dog and is very patient!

Sick

Poor Annika got sick over Thanksgiving.  She ended up having an ear infection in both ears and was pretty much down for the count for almost 2 weeks.  During this time she started to love laying on the couch with a pillow and a blanket either watching Mouse (her favorite) or reading a book.  Glad she is finally feeling better!

Decorating

Over Thanksgiving weekend we put up our Christmas decorations.  Annika was interested in helping for about 10 minutes.  She was more interested in playing with the ornaments before they were on the tree.  She really likes the ornaments that play music or have some sort of movement.  She found one that she loves and has taken it off the tree numerous times.
