Reading with Dad

I was working on some homework and I looked up to see Derek sitting on the floor with Annika. Derek was reading on the iPad and Annika was enjoying her own book!

Beautiful Day

Derek and I met his parents at the Farmer's Market on Saturday morning and then we headed to the park to hang out. It was a beautiful morning and great fun.

Photo Session

Annika's Aunt Kristen got her this cute tutu and huge flower and our wonderful babysitter Colleen decided to do a little photo session. Yes, I know the flower is bigger than her head, but she is so darn cute it doesn't matter!

Annika & Rynka

We were just sitting around one night and I looked down and saw Rynka getting close to Annika. This is not normal so I was watching carefully. I was very happy I was watching, and that the camera was close by. Rynka usually stays far away from Annika, but this night she wanted to say hello. It didn't last long and it hasn't happened since. Thank goodness for cameras!

7 Months!

So I'm not the best at getting these pictures up on time, but here they are. As you can see, it is getting harder and harder to get Annika smiling, sitting up, and looking at the camera. Trying to get the sign in there too is almost impossible! So, here is what we ended up with. Not the best pictures, but she was talking the entire time we were taking them. She is great!

Crawling? Well, maybe not.

Annika is very close to crawling, which is pretty exciting. The problem right now is once she gets on her stomach and looks like she might take off. She will just decide to stop and put her head down. She usually doesn't cry, she just decides she is tired and is not going to go any further. Oh well, she'll get there. Now to baby proof our house!

Reading with Grandma

Annika loves to have books read to her. She especially liked it when her Grandma read her a new book about dinosaurs.

Laundry

I was trying to fold laundry one morning and Annika decide she wanted to help. Every time I would fold something within her reach, she would grab it and start playing with it. Maybe this means she will like to fold laundry more than me!

Nodding Off

Playing is so tiring for a 7 month old!

Playing Around

Annika had a great time playing with her cousin Zeke.

Annika was having fun playing with her Aunt Kristen's hat. So cute!

Where's Annika?

Feeding Fun

We started Annika on baby food when she was about six months old. It's going well now. Not so much when we first got started. I think more of the food ends up on her face than in her mouth. At least she doesn't seem to mind!

Backward

We have gotten into a pretty good routine in the past 7 months. I usually get Annika ready for bed and Derek gets her bottle ready. Well, this night we switched and Derek got her into her PJ's. When I came into the bedroom this is what I found. FYI - the giraffe is supposed to be in the front, not the back. I think we will stick with our usually routine from now on. I think Annika agrees!

More Grandparents!

Derek's Grandma and Grandpa Beazie came into town from Arizona and finally got to meet Annika. It was great having them here and we can't wait for them to come back.

Annika & Thor

Annika loves Thor. I mean LOVES! She watches him walk around and get super excited when he comes close to her. He is such a good dog and lets her pet him, and by pet I mean hit and grab his fur. There are no pictures of Annika with our other dog Rynka because Rynka is not a fan of Annika. Annika wants to be her friend but Rynka is more than fine leaving that up to Thor.

Late

So I'm a little late with these pictures, but I figure, better late than never!

My wonderful friend Jody loaned us a ton of clothes, including this cute dress for 4th of July.

So we tried to put the sign in front of her but all she wanted to do was chew on it.

So, now the sign will be above her head, or out of reach!
