Day-To-Day

Annika has been working on her reading skills. She was proud to show them off to grandma.

Just a few friends for a nap.

Cheering on Papa's new football team.
For some reason, our children have gotten into this new habit of sleeping on the floor.  As long as they sleep, at the point, where they sleep is less important.
Annika's new school held a Skate Party, so we took her to the rink and she had a blast learning how to roller skate.
Annika is very into making her own stuff.  This is a castle that she built, with a little help from Asher.  She loves to create and we love to see her creations.
Cheering on Papa, enjoying a nice night of football.

Frozen on Ice

We got tickets to Frozen on Ice in downtown KC at the Sprint Center. Since it was a Friday night, it was going to be bad traffic and either a hard time or expensive to park, so we decided to ride the bus. It was the first time Annika and Asher have taken public transportation, and as you can see, they had a blast.
The show was amazing. The kids were glued to it all, soaking in the experience.  Asher got his Elsa doll, which he carried, played, and slept with for about a week before he broke the head off.

Light Up Shoes

The beginning of the school year was a little challenging for Annika.  She had a difficult time when I would drop her off with her class in the moorings.  This would only last a few minutes, if that, and then she was fine.  But watching her be so sad and anxious was breaking my heart.  A few weeks before she found these light up shoes she wanted and I didn't get them for her.   So I told her we could go get them if it would help her in the mornings.  Yes.  A bribe.  I'm not above it!  It worked!  She loved (still does) her shoes and since that first week we have had no tears and she is having a great time!  Love this little girl so much and so glad to see her settling in and having fun!

Vacation Stop #4

Our final stop on our vacation this summer was to spend some time with the Conway's.  We spent most of the time outside in the perfect weather, and it was wonderful.  We picked raspberries, carrots, rhubarb, apples, weeds, played in the dirt, ran in the sprinklers, drove on the golf cart, ran like crazy people, sat around and talked, and overall just had a great time.  So great, in fact, that we stayed an extra day.  I am not a country girl.  I love being in the city close to everything.  But I have to say this was a great way to spend three days.  Our kids had a blast and it was so nice to spend time with family.  We even got to drive into town and spend some time with Larry, which was fun.  Annika started asking when we could go back about an hour into the ride home!
